Playtech Signs Lucrative Deal with Scientific Games Corporation - 01-23-10 |
January 23 - An exciting joint venture was created between two gambling
giants, Playtech software provider and the New York based Scientific Games
Corporation.
The venture, which was announced on Thursday in a joint statement by the two
companies, will see Playtech combine its quality B2B internet gaming software
and content with Scientific Game's gaming solutions that have the blessing of
the US government.
Customers will enjoy a full suite of games that include bingo, casino and
poker, with a full range of support and payment services.
"This is an important step for both companies," said Mike Chambrello, Chief
Executive Officer of Scientific Games, and Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech. "We have
highly complementary skill sets allied with a global reach and this partnership
provides the opportunity to leverage off this combined know how to maximum
effect."
The two said this was "an ideal partnership" in many ways. "Customers will
benefit from best of breed content, sophisticated player management systems, and
long standing industry experience in providing highly secure, regulated,
compliance-oriented services," they said.
It is believed that Playtech will benefit greatly from this new deal as it
brings the group closer to the US gambling market and places it in an excellent
position when the industry becomes legalized and regulated.

to focus on what we do best: developing cutting edge technology platforms and
exciting games content," said Weizer. "This partnership is another example of
our focus on regulated markets, where governments will play major roles as both
