PAF to Sponsor Spanish Football Team - 09-05-08

September 5 - In the latest sponsorship deal that was signed between a European gambling company and a continental soccer team, it was announced that the Finnish gambling company, PAF has signed a lucrative shirt deal with the Primera Liga Spanish team, Atletico Madrid.

Speaking after the deal, the head of business-to-business for PAF, Anders Wiklund said: "PAF is proud to become a new sponsor for Atletico Madrid. This is an historic day for us, being able to team up with one of the best football clubs in Europe, which shares the same values as us, is a true honor for PAF. We have found a very like-minded club with a very good reputation, which is a corner stone in this sponsorship agreement. PAF is dedicated to creating a win-win situation not only for the club but also for Atletico Madrid fans."

As part of the agreement which will see PAF sponsor Atletico Madrid's shirts for three years, a new official Atletico Madrid gambling site will be established as early as next year.

Team members and fans alike will be able to access the new gambling site to gain information about Atletico Madrid, including interviews with team members, coaches and management. Players will be able to wager by checking the sports odds offered on the site, as well as stand in line to win lucrative prizes connected to the team such as packages to view their games in different locations around the world.

PAF has already promised to distribute money to local charities in Spain, a move that has been lauded as a 'win-win situation for the club, the fans and for charity", according to Juan Carlos Mayo who represented Atletico Madrid as its commercial general manager.

PAF now holds advertising rights at Atletico Madrid's official home, the 55,000 seat Vincente Calderone stadium.
