PAF to Continue Sponsorship of Atletico de Madrid - 07-21-10

July 21 - The Finnish gambling monopoly, Alands Penningautomatforening (PAF) has extended its sponsorship of Spanish soccer club, Atletico de Madrid for an additional year.

Inger Holmstrom, Public Relations Director for PAF said: "The fact that we are extending the contract for another year is proof of a long and successful partnership. You could say that we have been engaged and now getting married."

As part of the deal, top players Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero will travel to Stockholm next month before the Spanish League season begins to take part in promotional activities. PAF will be offering VIP packages, match tickets and access to top players.

Albin Tiusanen, Head of Spanish Activities for PAF commented: "Extending our partnership means that our customers in all markets will be able to win football trips to Madrid, meet some of the club's star players and sit in the best possible seats at the Vicente Calderon Stadium to see Atletico de Madrid play against other major clubs like Read Madrid and Barcelona."

Atletico de Madrid is a highly successful soccer team which is evidenced by their triumphs. They took home the European World Cup Winners Cup in 1962, The Intercontinental Cup in 1975 and the EUFA Europa League Title last season.

In Spain they have won the league and the Copa Del Rey on nine occasions, including having taken them both in one year in 1996.

Enrique Cerezo, President of Atletico de Madrid stated: We were convinced that the relationship with PAF and Atletico de Madrid was going to be more than promising and it was. We are linked to a company that is a referent in the market with an important present and a promising future."
