NFL Betting Fans Prepare for Postseason AFC Action - 01-06-10 |
January 6 - Wow, after a long and hard regular NFL season, it is almost time
for the long-awaited playoffs, but first the AFC's wild-card round of games has
to take place in order to 'separate the chaff from the wheat.' And there is no
doubt that these games will offer up excellent NFL betting action.
Here's how we'd like to see things play out. Where the New York Jets take on the
Cincinnati Bengals, watch out Bengals betting fans. Even though Cincinnati were
10-6 this season, somehow they managed to wind their way through the season
without a truly 'standout' game. The Jets, however, have evolved into the NFL's
# 1 ranked team by defence this season, and are thus the far more confident of
the two teams. As such our pick is: NY Jets to win.
Where the Baltimore Ravens take on the New England Patriots, we favour the
Ravens. Unfortunately for the Patriots, they lost key player, Wes Welker, to a
potentially devastating knee injury against the Houston Texans. Not only did the
Patriots lose Welker - possibly for good - but also the game to the Texans. The
Ravens, meanwhile, came close to beating the Patriots in their last showdown. As
such, and with Welker out, we pick the Ravens to win.
And here is where our predictions really get interesting. In the AFC
Divisional Playoffs, there will be two games that will have NFL betting fans
scrambling for the best seats in front of their TV sets and flat screens.
First we see the San Diego Chargers going up against the New York Jets. While
many betting fans will still have memories of the Jets' superb end of season
games running through their minds, they need to remember that the Chargers have
played this season like a brand new nickel-plated V8 Hemi running NOS, i.e.
quick and with a big ol punch. How else did they win 11 straight games? So our
pick then is San Diego Chargers to win.
Second we see the Baltimore Ravens facing the Indianapolis Colts. Crunch time.
Interestingly many NFL betting fans consider the Ravens the # 1 'sleeper team'
of this NFL season. Which means they could be dangerous, very dangerous. Then
there are the Colts who many feel rested on their laurels in Week 16, which
almost cost them big time. But the past being the past, of these two teams we
believe the Baltimore Ravens will shock everyone by delivering a win.
So that leaves us with the AFC Championship game. If our predictions come true,
which we have no doubt they will, then be sure to expect a high octane, high
energy matchup between the San Diego Chargers and the Indianapolis Colts to
decide the AFC Championship. And I think by hook or by crook, San Diego will win
this all-important game, and head on to the Super Bowl for only the second time
in the team's history.
Now we know what you're probably thinking - what have these guys been smoking?
Answer nothing but the clear Wyoming sky. We have just been doing our homework
and when all has been said and done, apart from actually deserving a shot at the
Super Bowl, the Chargers actually do have what it takes to beat the Colts and go
all the way this season.
Now is the time to put your NFL betting money where our mouth is.
