Microgaming Pulls Plug on Tusk Software License - 02-28-08 |
February 28 - This week the online gambling industry was taken by surprise with
the news that large and once successful Australian-based Microgaming-powered online gambling
operation, Tusk Investment Corporation Limited, is intending to go into
liquidation.
As a result, Microgaming, the leading online gambling software developer that
has been providing software to Tusk Investment's vast range of online casinos and
poker rooms, announced yesterday (Wednesday, February 27) that it has terminated its software agreement
with Tusk.
In a statement, Microgaming said that after it was notified by Tusk about the
company's impending liquidation, it terminated Tusk's software license with 'immediate effect'. However, it is still 'presently gathering all facts related to
this matter and will provide further announcements as and when information
becomes available.'
The announcement comes barely a week after leading online gambling industry
watchdog and player protection organization, eCOGRA, removed its 'Seal of
Approval' from the gambling sites owned by Tusk Investment Corporation Limited.
These are the online casinos owned by Tusk Investment Corporation: Big
Casino Challenge Casino, Golden Reef Casino, Music Hall Casino, Nostalgia Casino
and UK Casino Club.
Its online poker rooms comprise: Arctic Poker, Atomik Poker, Battlefield Poker,
Berserk Poker, Bet Road Poker, Caya Poker, CPT Gaming Poker, Daily Poker, Dave's
Poker Room, Euro Poker Dream, Flush Draw Poker, GoHard Poker, Grand Central
