Kahnawake Gaming Commission Turns to eCOGRA - 01-28-10 |
January 28 - In a bid to improve its image and improve the standards of some
fifty five gambling operator licensees, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission has
requested that eCOGRA step in as an Approved Agent to ensure that its
licensees comply to a new program rolled out by the Commission.
The Continuous Compliance Program will ensure that the companies licensed
through the KGC meet international best standard practices through annual
assessment for compliance of KGC regulations, as well as key regulatory
objectives, and ongoing analysis of live gaming data.
The Chief Executive of eCOGRA, Andrew Beveridge said: "The KGC and its
licensees have demonstrated a great determination to achieve best practice
standards, and we respect the commitment that has so far been shown."
"Our extensive work with our own eCOGRA accredited operators and those of
EGBA has repeatedly illustrated that the right standards, professionally and
diligently applied and maintained by an independent third party, produce
outstanding results that enhance the reputation and productivity of
participating companies," he added.
The Kahnawake Gaming Commission said that it had a long standing working
relationship with eCOGRA and was confident that the group would assist in
effectively implementing the new Continuous Compliance Program.
"eCOGRA is a non profit standards and player protection company that has a
substantial staff of professionally qualified and industry experienced Chartered
Accountants who have completed hundreds of compliance inspections over the past
six years," said KGC Chairman, Dean Montour. "The company, which is itself
reviewed annually by KPMG, has the resources to assess compliance and conduct
monitoring programs to ensure game fairness and adherence to key KGC objectives,
and is eminently suited to the task."
