Internet Gambling Press Conference in Atlantic City - 05-02-08 |
May 2 - One of the online gambling industry's greatest allies, the
Republican Murray Sabrin, will be holding a special internet
gambling press conference in Atlantic City this Friday to discuss the issues pertaining to
the legalization of the industry.
Dr. Sabrin, who is New Jersey's senatorial candidate, is closely
aligned with Republican Presidential Candidate, Ron Paul who, together with
Barney Frank, has introduced legislation to regulate the online gambling
industry and abolish the controversial Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement
Act.
Sabrin was recently quoted as saying: "When I take my place in the
Senate, I will say NO to draconian laws that infringe upon the freedom of
Americans to spend their own hard-earned money where they see fit! Enjoying a
wager and participating in online gaming should not be banned. And those who
provide sites that entertain and provide services should not be treated as
criminals."
No time had been set for the internet gambling press conference at
the time of going to press.
When endorsing Murray Sabrin, Ron Paul said: "Murray has devoted
his entire career to promoting limited government and personal freedom, and I am
proud to have known him and worked with him for more than 25 years. He will only
be an outstanding representative of the people of New Jersey, but the greatest
advocate of liberty and constitutional principles the United States Senate has
needed in decades. I am delighted to endorse him and encourage all Americans who
believe in freedom to support him enthusiastically."
A major fundraising event was held for Sabrin, hosted by Paul, on
April 28th at the Hilton Newark Penn Station.
