Inteltek Chances Good in Turkish Iddaa Game - 09-01-08

September 1 - Following a second round of bidding in order to run the lucrative Iddaa national sports betting game in Turkey, it has been revealed that the best bid that came out of this round was made by Inteltek.

Competition in this bid has been extremely tough as several top names in the business battle it out in order to win the concession that will earn them the right to run Iddaa for a good decade.

Public interest in this bid has been at an all time high, with the results of the second round of betting being televised live for all to see.

The first round of bidding was won by a consortium made up of three top gambling groups in the industry - Lottomatica, the Italian Snai and the Turkish Dogan Yayin. These groups made a bid to take 6.1% of the revenues.

However, they were out pipped by Inteltek in the second round which made a bid for a significant lower 1.4% of the revenues.

Inteltek, which currently runs the enormously popular Iddaa sports betting game, has dropped its revenue percentage from the 10% it takes under the present deal. Its huge drop in the second round of the new bids demonstrates just how tough competition has been this time around.

Although it is clear to all that Inteltek's bid was the lowest in the final round of the bid, no official decision has been made by authorities just yet. The head of the Turkish government's betting authority, Yunus Ucar said: "After a maximum three day approval period, the administration will make its judgment and inform the parties of the result in writing."

Online gambling companies were banned from the Turkish betting market last year, following the introduction of strict gambling legislation.
