It wasn't long before the gambling possibilities of the roulette wheel began to
emerge and the game developed quickly so that people could place bets on the outcome of the

Over a hundred years later, two equally clever Frenchmen - Louis and Francois
Blanc - added the 'zero' to the roulette table to increase the 'house' or casino
edge - the rascals!
Their form of roulette, called European Roulette, is
considered the true roulette and is still widely played in casinos and online casinos all over
the world.
However, when roulette made its way across the Atlantic ocean in the mid 18th
century, the Americans - in their never-ending quest to make everything bigger
and better - added another zero, or to be precise a double-zero, to the roulette
table and called this new version, American roulette.
By adding another zero number, they effectively succeeded in increasing the
casino edge or advantage to 5.3%, from the 2.7% advantage of European roulette
games. (Roulette table's may look nicer with two zero numbers, but they won't
increase your odds of winning any).
When online casinos appeared on the Internet, it was only a matter of time
before they began to offer online gambling fans both European and American
roulette games.
Today, online roulette is one of the most popular form of online gambling and is
