Congressman Miller Adds Support to IGREA - 02-29-08 |
February 29 - While the online gambling ban is still in force across the United
States, support is steadily growing for the Internet Gambling Regulation and
Enforcement Act (IGREA), a bill designed to legalize and regulate online
gambling in the country.
The latest Congressman to become another co-sponsor to IGREA is George Miller (D
- CA) of the 7th District of California, who is also the chairman of the
Committee on Education and Labor. Miller joins 45 other Congressmen in support
of the bill.
Last year the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act 2007 was
introduced by Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) with the aim to
create an exemption to the US online gambling ban for licensed operators,
allowing Americans to gamble online legally.
