Bwin Games Appoints New MD - 01-27-10 |
January 27 - The Austrian based gambling group,
Bwin, has announced plans to
restructure its poker arm by appointing a new Managing Director for its
subsidiary, Bwin Games AB.
According to the group, Peter Bertilsson will replace the current MD, Carl
Klingberg.
Bertilsson's experience in the online gambling industry spans over 15 years,
especially in the Business-to-Business (B2B) realm.
He headed software giant Boss Media for 5 years and during this time
increased profits significantly and turned the company into a successful B2B
venture.
The co-chief executive of bwin, Norbert Teufelberger said about the new
appointment: "We have convinced a true veteran of the online gaming B2B business
to take the challenge leading this business unit."
"As the market environment changes in that fast moving industry, B2B
capabilities will be key for the US and Asia but also for riding the regulation
wave in Europe," he continued. "To carve out a distinct and strategic B2B unit
is the order of the day. It is time to evaluate, complete and enhance the
product portfolio to be prepared for the future."
Bertilsson expressed his satisfaction at joining the team at Bwin Games: "I
am very happy to take this opportunity, there have never been greater
opportunities within the gambling sector than right now and Bwin has a very
strong position to make these happen," he said.
In the meantime, rumours continue that
Bwin and Party Gaming are set to join
powers, pushing Party Gaming share prices up on the London Stock Exhange.
