Bingo Site Cozies Up to New Software Provider - 01-18-10 |
January 18 - Bingo.com, one of the world's leading online bingo
brands, has announced that it has selected Cozy Games as its new core software
platform.
The change comes as Bingo.com strives to return to profitability after
leaving the US
online bingo market in 2006.
Bingo.com was the top online bingo provider in the United States and after
the UIGEA, the site quit the market and entered the UK bingo scene with the
intention of registering as many players as possible.
Today, Bingo.com has registered over 600,000 non-North American players due
to a generous bonus structure, and despite a competitive market and a
challenging economic climate.
"The time has come to concentrate not solely on growth, but on a return to
the profitability we enjoyed previously," said the Chief Executive Officer of
Bingo.com., Tarnie Williams. "We believe this can be achieved, but will result
in lower revenues going forward as we tighten the gaming incentives we provided
to new players."
"Over the past several months we have spent considerable resources in
preparing the switch of gaming platforms," continued Williams. "We have modified
our staffing to realize both cost savings and a better alignment to focus on
this phase of our strategic plan. We have secured new servers in Malta where we
recently received our Class 1 and Class 3 licenses enabling us to legally
provide and market online internet gaming throughout the UK."
The new gaming platform will add 30 new slot games to the site and will
provide a multi language, multi currency option to all players.
