Bettson and Playtech Sign Deal - 04-17-08 |
April 17 - A deal between software giant, Playtech and the Swedish
online gambling company, Bettson, was announced yesterday. Under the
terms of the agreement, Playtech will provide Bettson and its casino brands with
its full portfolio of 110 games, and an integration of its back-end system.
The Playtech software package will complement Bettson's existing software
that works off Net Entertainment's Casino Module platform. Previous reports
claimed that the Playtech software would replace the Casino Module but these
were quickly dispelled.
The new software would be used at Bettson's online casino, as well of two of
its brand sites - CherryCasino.com and CasinoEuro.com.
The CEO of Playtech, Mor Weizer said after the signing of the deal: "We are
delighted to have reached this agreement with Bettson, one of the largest online
gaming operators in Europe, and look forward to a productive working
relationship. The agreement is further evidence of Playtech's ability to add
high profile licensees to its client base whilst it also extends the Group's
customer reach and appeal in the valuable European gaming market."
In response, the CEO of Bettson Malta Ltd, Thomas Kalita said: "We are
delighted to be able to add yet another quality product to our broad offering.
Playtech's proven track record as a software supplier, supported by its wide
range of languages is of great essence to Bettson especially when expanding into
new territories."
Last month, Playtech's shares reached an all-time high on London's AIM
market, despite the turbulence in the market caused by the Unlawful Internet
Gambling Enforcement Act. The company has a market capitalization value of GBP
924-million.
