NFL Playoffs Betting Guide Pre Super Bowl |

January 20 - NFL betting will focus on the two de facto Semi-Finals this Sunday in the postseason, as the AFC and NFC champions are crowned. Both teams will then go on to meet in the Super Bowl, and most pundits are predicting a Colts vs Saints clash.
But those predictions could go horribly awry as the Jets are this season`s Giants, a team from New York winning against all odds. If they were to win the Super Bowl that would be an even bigger shock, however, since this team wasn`t even meant to be in the playoffs. They only got there because the Colts basically threw the game in order to protect their precious starters. So it would be poetic justice if the Jets spanked them again, although this seems highly unlikely.
New York are +8.5 points with some offshore bookies, and trading at no shorter than +7.5 points against the spread. The Colts have often flattered to deceive in the playoffs, but this could be another version of the team that demolished the Bears en route to Manning`s first SuperBowl win.
In the other game the Vikings take on the Saints in a clash of high-octane football teams that could result in a ton of points and an "instant classic". The Vikings are attracting some betting support. The line opened incorrectly at +4.5 points and shrewd bettors were quick to snap this up. The latest spread has the home team favored by -3.5 points although it is already dropping to -3 points at some books.
At -3 points the value reverts to the Saints. We think the correct line should be -3.5 points as these two are closely matched, but home field could prove ultimately vital.
