Nothing Fair About Full Tilt Poker Bots

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Full Tilt PokerOctober 13 - Full Tilt Poker is embroiled in a poker bot scandal that once again threatens the good name of the online poker industry. The trouble started when two accounts (both controlled by the same person, a female poker player) were suspended and the funds confiscated. That amount: $80,000. A tidy sum indeed, which the poker room claimed was won through the use of poker bots.

But now a lawsuit has been filed by that player and she claims that Full Tilt uses their own poker bots to fill up empty seats. This charge is extremely serious and the integrity of online poker as a whole is thrown into question. She also claims that many of the sponsored Full Tilt pros, who own shares in the company in exchange for playing exclusively at the website, use company funds when playing for real money. This technically would mean that Full Tilt is operating an online gambling enterprise where you play against the House.

The second charge, even if it is true, will probably have no effect on Full Tilt, since last time we checked online poker was illegal in the USA, and if anyone in America wanted to go after Full Tilt for breaking the law it`s not like the owners keep a low profile.

However, the first charge about online poker bots is very concerning, and it seems clear that regardless of who is controlling them they do exist at online poker rooms right now. So, they`re not an urban legend after all. In the interests of fair online gambling, we urge you to be careful at these poker rooms and play responsibly and within your limits because you could easily get burned by someone or something with a very unfair advantage!
